First of all, I greatly appreciate your friendship. In spite of several difficulties, my comrades and I are able to be firm because we believe that many people, including you and your friends, admits our political actions to be right and conscientious. Any persons who love liberty, justice, peace, and democracy are the one.
Our ideal is to realize human love. Any adversities and difficulties can not break our ideal. What is to be done for it ! Yes, we have to love our neighbors ; people bereft of liberty, low-wage earners, unemployed persons, animals in a crisis of being exterminated, the polluted earth, and etc. All of them are our neighbors who need our deep concern and aid.
Including all ages and countries, to love our neighbors is the ideal of the whole world to be pursued above the class consciousness, national sentiment, racial prejudice.
All over the world there still lies hidden chains which tie the hands of conscientious persons to practice loving their neighbors. Amnesty International play an important role in cutting the chains. The group is worth while to be called the messenger of justice and the fortress of civil liberty activities.
Just you are one of the members of the group. I pay my respects to you playing an active part in such a good group. I feel soft this spring because of your letter. I expect that your tulips shall be in full bloom sooner or later. One who likes flowers and poems is a person who have a mind to love his neighbors.
